The EXQJ7 is a motor controller built for water pumps: it starts and stops a pump or motor on command while protecting it against overload and phase loss, and the EXQJ7-W version adds automatic liquid level control for domestic water towers, reservoirs and sumps. Rated for motors up to 18.5kW (38A at 380V) in an IP55 enclosure, it is a single-box alternative to wiring a contactor, relay and float control together.

Scope of Application
The EXQJ7 series motor controller(hereinafter referred to as the controller) is mainly used in circuits with AC frequency of 50Hz(or 60Hz), rated operating voltage of 380V, and rated control power up to 18.5kW(corresponding current of 38A).It is designed to directly control the start and stop of water pumps or motors, provide overload and phase failure protection for motors, and realize automatic liquid level control for domestic water towers and reservoirs.
This product is not suitable for liquid level control of low-conductivity liquids, such as petroleum, puriƍed water. Əammable and explosive chemical liguids, and high-density sewage.
The version equipped with a liquid level relay is used to control the start and stop as well as automatic pumping and draining of water pumps, while providing overload and phase failure protection. The version without a liquid level relay is designed to control the start and stop of motors, with overload and phase loss protection functions. The motor comprehensive protector of the controller shall be conƍgured before beingconnected and put into operation.

- Altitude: The altitude of the installation location shall not exceed 2000 m
- Ambient Temperature: -5℃ ~ +40℃; the average temperature within 24 hours shall not exceed +35℃.
- Atmospheric Conditions: The maximum relative air humidity at the installation location shall not exceed 50%.
- At a temperature of 40°C, the lower the temperature, the higher the relative humidity may be.If condensation occasionally occurs on the product due to temperature variations, special measures shall be taken

What is the difference between EXQJ7 and EXQJ7-W?
EXQJ7 starts and stops a motor or pump with overload and phase-loss protection. EXQJ7-W additionally contains a liquid level relay: by connecting level electrodes in the tank it automatically switches the pump on and off to maintain the liquid level — filling a water tower or draining a sump without human action. Choose -W when automatic level control is required.
Which liquids can the EXQJ7-W control?
It is designed for water and similar conductive liquids — domestic water towers, reservoirs, wells and sumps. It is not suitable for liquids with very low conductivity (petroleum, purified water), flammable or explosive chemicals, or high-density sewage, because the electrode sensing principle requires an electrically conductive medium.
How does the liquid level sensing work?
Three (or more) electrodes are lowered into the tank at the desired levels. Water bridging the electrodes completes a low-current circuit to the controller; the EXQJ7-W interprets the level and switches the pump accordingly. The electrode down-lead may be up to 200m, and the sensitivity is adjustable to match water conductivity.
What protection does the EXQJ7 provide for the pump motor?
A motor comprehensive protector provides overload protection along a calibrated curve (no trip at 1.05× setting current, trip within 2h at 1.2×, Class 30 thermal curve above) and phase-loss protection that disconnects within 5 seconds when any phase is lost. The protector must be configured to the motor current before commissioning.
Can the EXQJ7 be used with a PLC instead of level electrodes?
Yes. The basic EXQJ7 is a motor controller for manual or external control: start/stop can be driven by XB2-E push buttons or by PLC/relay contacts, while overload and phase-loss protection remain active. The -W version adds the internal level logic for stand-alone automatic operation.
