125A Capacity in a DIN Rail Body
The EXBZ7-125 carries the changeover function up to 125A in a rail-mounted switch, covering mains-generator changeover for shops, small plants, telecom shelters and pump houses without moving up to a floor-standing enclosure.
25mm² Terminals for Real Incoming Cables
Terminal capacity grows with the rating: 25mm² accepts the conductors that actually arrive at a 125A changeover point, so terminations are not reduced or doubled up to fit the device.
Two Jobs in One Device
The switch performs the transfer between two sources and, because it is rated as a switch disconnector, it also provides the load-break isolation point for servicing the downstream installation — one device where panels often use two.
Deterministic, Maintenance-Free Operation
No coils, no control voltage, no firmware: the handle position tells you exactly which source is connected and, in the 0 position, that both are isolated. For standby supplies that are used occasionally, that reliability is the whole point.

EXBZ7-125 — When the Changeover Point Has to Handle 125A Without Electronics
Above about 63A the choice of changeover hardware narrows quickly: contactors and automatic transfer switches introduce control circuits and settings, while floor-standing switchgear is expensive for what is often a small room. The EXBZ7-125 fills that space. Rated to 125A with 25mm² terminals in a 35mm DIN rail body, it moves the load between two feeders with a single handle, and the 1-0-2 indexing means mains and generator can never be paralleled — a physical guarantee that no relay logic offers.
Because the device is classified as a switch disconnector under IEC/EN 60947-3, the same handle that transfers the supply also isolates the downstream installation for maintenance. Panels that previously needed a changeover switch plus a separate isolator can be simplified, and the flame-retardant nylon housing with IP20 protection keeps the arrangement compact and finger-safe.

What is a switch disconnector and when is one required?
A switch disconnector is a device that can switch a circuit on and off under load and, in the off position, provides isolation so downstream equipment can be worked on safely. Installations that must be isolated for maintenance — incoming supplies, machine feeds, standby changeover points — generally require a device of this class rather than a plain contactor.
Can the EXBZ7-125 be used for mains-to-generator changeover?
Yes. Connect the mains to one input and the generator to the other, and the handle selects which source feeds the load through the 0 position. Because the changeover is break-before-make, the generator can never be paralleled with the utility — a fundamental safety requirement for standby supplies. It is a manual device, so it suits sites where an operator is present to start the generator and transfer.
Does a 125A changeover switch need a separate isolator?
Usually not. Because the EXBZ7-125 is rated for switch-disconnector duty under IEC/EN 60947-3, it can serve as the isolation point in the off position, provided the upstream protective device handles short-circuit interruption and the installation complies with local rules. Many panels that previously used a changeover switch plus a separate isolator can be simplified to a single device.
How do I choose between the EXBZ7-63 and EXBZ7-125?
Choose by continuous current and cable size. The EXBZ7-63 covers 16-63A with 16mm² terminals; the EXBZ7-125 covers 80A and 125A ratings with 25mm² terminals for larger incoming conductors. Both share the same 1-0-2 operation, PC class rating and 35mm DIN rail mounting.
What protection does the device itself provide?
The switch provides load-break switching and isolation; it does not interrupt short-circuit currents. A fuse or circuit breaker must be installed upstream, sized for the cable and the load. The EXBZ7-125 is rated 240/415V, 50/60Hz, with 1500 electrical and 8500 mechanical operating cycles and IP20 protection.
