What makes the EXFP7 Din Rail Series different from other aerosol extinguishers?
EXFP7 Din Rail Series is designed for direct snap-on DG-35-7.5 DIN rail mounting in electrical distribution, consumer units and control panels. Traditional fire extinguishers needed brackets and screws for mounting, but Din Rail Series seamlessly fits in beside circuit breakers, MCBs, RCDs, contactors, using only 9mm rail width at a time. This installation saves installation time and makes fire protection a part of electrical design.
How do I choose between the 10g and 15g models?
Selection depends on the internal volume of the distribution board or control panel. The EXFP7 Din Rail Series has an extinguishing density of 100g/m³. For the usual consumer units and small distribution boards (with internal volume up to 0.1m³), go with the 10g model (EXFP1/EXFP3/EXFP7 D0.01G/S-QR). For bigger panels, meter cabinets, and industrial eclosures (up to 0.15m³), go with the 15g version (EXFP1/EXFP3/EXFP7 D0.015G/S-QR). In both cases, the 9mm DIN rail footprint is constant which means the same layout can be used regardless of what the system’s capacity is.
What fire classes does the EXFP7 Din Rail Series cover?
The EXFP7 Din Rail Series has been approved for Class A (ordinary combustibles such as wood, paper and textiles) range of use, Class B (flamelike liquids such as fuels, oils and solvents), and Class C (flammable gases such as methane). This application of the Din Rail enables it to be widely used in distribution boards, consumer units and electrical cabinets, including in situations of fires from solid, liquid and electrical fire situations.
What is the service life and maintenance requirement for the Din Rail Series?
The EXFP7 Din Rail Series has a 10-year lifespan when used in typical environments at a temperature that ranges from -50°C to +90°C and a humidity of ≤95% RH. It does not require any maintenance at all during this time because it does not have any pressurized containers which need to be routinely checked, nor does it require charging of any chemical component nor cleaning of any filters nor replacing moving parts. We recommend a casual inspection of the thermal sensing line and case every 2-3 years.
Can the Din Rail Series be installed alongside other DIN rail components?
The EXFP7 Din Rail series is built with standard DIN rail products in mind and has an ultra slim 9mm profile which utilizes the same panel space as one MCB pole. This allows installation alongside circuit breakers, RCDs, contactors, terminal blocks, surge protectors and PLCs without additional need for panel space. The snap-on mounting clip permits easy installation and removal, thus making retrofitting into existing distribution networks easier.
