EXB9L-125 Type B/B+ Residual Current Breaker

Type A Detection with SI Filtering — No More Unexplained Trips

The EXB9L-125 Type A+SI combines Type A residual current detection with SI anti-interference filtering in one device. It responds to sinusoidal AC and pulsed DC residual currents, while filters reject the harmonics and transient surges that cause unexplained tripping on circuits feeding drives, LED lighting and IT equipment.

Key Features & Typical Use

Type A Detection Where Electronics Live

Contemporary electronic circuits have very little connection with sinusoidal currents. On the other hand, the Element Type A is capable of detecting pulsating DC residual currents emitted by the rectifiers. Moreover, it protects LED drivers, three-phase power supply, and single-phase drives completely.

SI Filtering Against False Trips

An unfiltered RCCB sensor has capability of identifying harmonic values and switching transients as fault currents . The SI filter, however, identifies genuine leakage and infection in the circuit thus avoiding tripping of the circuit repeatedly.

Designed for Dirty Supplies

The device is capable of withstanding surges of 3000A (8/20µs) enabling it to protect from surges from overhead power lines or structures with large power consumers like motors and welders using it.

One Device, Two Problems Solved

Those users that choose Type A devices must also incorporate additional external filtering and, thus, lose their advantage in simplicity.

EXB9L-125 Type A+SI — For Boards That Trip for No Visible Reason

Each of the electricians confronts with installation which has unexpected shutdown – there are no defects in the insulation, however, RCCB works when lift operates, during LED light warming or in the moments when solar power is initialized. In most cases, the reason is not leakages but some distortion in power supply, i.e. harmonics and quick transients interpreted as leakage current by the non-filtered responder.

Type A+SI is designed to deal with the problem from both angles. The Type A sensor is able to identify pulsating DC earth fault currents generated by devices in rectifier-load operations, while the SI filter allows for differentiation between actual leakage and interference of harmonic/transient character, thus preventing unnecessary trips of the unit without undermining the effectiveness of the resulting actions.

Huyu is the manufacturer of EXB9L-125 A+SI in its own plant and has been producing electrically insulated RCCBs for electrical contractors, facility operators, distributors, and OEM producers along with factory prices and documentation of the tests.

Factory-Direct OEM / ODM Manufacturer

We Manufacture, You Brand

Calibrating type A+SI devices to their sensitivity, as well as their filter response, occurs at our production facility. Before any batch is approved, the units sampled from the batch undergo a surge test to check the 3000A withstand.

When dealing with an installation where the disturbance source is already identified, we will help you choose the sensitivity setting so that the system does not become overly sensitive.

  • OEM branding — marking, labels and packaging under your brand.
  • ODM options — sensitivity variants and filter configurations for specific disturbance environments.
  • Test documentation — sensitivity, timing and surge test records per batch.
  • MOQ — flexible quantities; can be mixed with Type AC/A/S devices in one order.

Buying Guide

Identify Type A+SI in cases of where the circuit is able to redistribute energy to various loads with the use of rectifiers but at the same time the electricity has something in it that would cause a normal RCD to operate, even if there is no fault.

  1. Identify the loads: LED lighting, IT equipment, single-phase drives or EV charging → Type A detection needed.
  2. Identify the disturbance: overhead supply, large motors, welding plant or known nuisance tripping history → SI filtering needed.
  3. Choose the rated current from 16A to 63A for the circuit.
  4. Select sensitivity — 30mA for personnel protection, 100mA or 300mA for fire and property protection.
  5. Choose 1P+N or 3P+N to match the system.
  6. Confirm upstream short-circuit protection and terminal capacity.
  7. Request samples and verify behaviour on site before rolling out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does an RCCB trip when there is no fault?

An unqualified appliance will not be able to tell the difference between real residual current and pollution. Distorted curves and pulse transients are generated by motor drives, LED lighting and other electronic appliances and therefore the circuit will detect the flow of phantom current. Consequently, the situation in which high-and-complex machinery stops working without any technological malfunctions occurs.

How does the SI filter work?

The SI filter can distinguish the disturbing signal from the leakage signal. As a result, the tripping component works only when an actual earth leak is detected. In this way, the tool gives the correct degree of sensitivity in the case of real faults while ignoring any disturbance and transient signal that may trigger false functioning.

Is Type A+SI the same as Type B?

The A+SI type can identify AC and pulsating DC residual currents, in addition to any nuisance disturbance. However, the A+SI type cannot identify smooth DC residual currents. In usage with smooth DC leakage applications, such as electric vehicle chargers, photovoltaic inverter applications, or DC drives, it is ideal to employ Type B and B+ devices.

What is the 3000A surge withstand for?

The impulse we have just described has a value and the value depicts the ratio of the time period during which the voltage has been “on” and the period of time while the voltage has been “off“.The values mentioned above can be seen in the electricity main power cables situated in the rain and in the devices with electronic equipment installed in them. Therefore, the RCCB does not have to disengage its work during every storm.

Can Type A+SI be used as the main incoming device?

The issue mentioned above may arise in business structures where the supplying circuit imports various electrical components that impact the power source. In this instance, if there are several RCCBs installed, it’s best to pick one selective device whether type S or SI at the very beginning of the circuit as it will be able to work together with type A+SI devices that are responsible for supplying power to the equipment that has gone down.
