Instructions for Use in Extreme Temperature Environments
- The GB/T 14048.1 standard speciƍes the normal operating ambient temperature for the product. When used within this normal range, the product’s peƐormance is not signiƍcantly aƆected.
- When the operating ambient temperature exceeds +40°C, it is necessaƔ to consider derating the permissible temperature rise limits. In such cases, the rated operating current must be reduced, and the number of contactors installed in standard assemblies must be decreased. Failure to do so may result in product damage, a shoƑened seƒice life, reduced operational reliability, and an impact on the product’s operating range. When the operating ambient temperature falls below -5°C, consideration must be given to the fact that greases used for insulation and lubrication may solidify at low temperatures, potentially causing product failure. Therefore, manufacturers and users should consult each other regarding design or usage requirements.
- The table below lists the rated operating current correction factors for instances where the rated operating voltage remains constant but the operating ambient temperature exceeds 55°C.
| Ambient temperature(℃) | 55 | 60 | 65 | 70 |
| Correction Factor | 1 | 0.93 | 0.875 | 0.75 |
- The following table provides correction factors for the rated impulse withstand voltage and rated working current when the altitude exceeds 200Om with the rated working voltage unchanged:
| Altitude(m) | 2000 | 3000 | 4000 | 5000 |
| Correction Factor for Rated Impulse Withstand Voltage | 1 | 0.88 | 0.78 | 0.7 |
| Correction Factor for Rated Working Current | 1 | 0.92 | 0.9 | 0.85 |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a miniature AC contactor?
A miniature AC contactor is a compact-sized contactor for switching small three-phase and single-phase loads — typically motors up to 7.5kW at 400V — where panel space is limited. The EXC7-M covers 6-16A at AC-3 with a body over 40% smaller than mainstream equivalents, making it a space-saving alternative for machine control and small distribution panels.
What is the difference between EXC7-M, EXC7-MZ and EXC7-MP?
EXC7-M is the standard AC-coil version. EXC7-MZ adds a Z suffix for DC coils (12-220V), for control systems with DC outputs. EXC7-MP is the pin-type version whose terminals solder directly to a PCB, used in assembled control modules. All share the same 45.5mm body width and 6-16A switching capacity.
How many auxiliary contacts does the EXC7-M include?
The EXC7-M comes standard with one normally open and one normally closed auxiliary contact (1NO+1NC), rated 10A thermal current with AC-15 360VA / DC-13 33W control capacity. This covers status feedback to a PLC or interlocking in most small applications without an extra auxiliary block.
Can a 4P EXC7-M switch a single-phase load with neutral?
Yes — that is the main use of the 4P version. Three poles switch the three phases (or the live lines of a three-pole single-phase group) while the fourth pole switches the neutral, giving full isolation of the controlled circuit. For a pure three-phase motor, the 3P version is sufficient.
What is the working temperature range and enclosure rating?
The EXC7-M operates from -35°C to +70°C maximum (-5°C to +40°C normal), at altitudes up to 2000m, with an IP20 enclosure excluding terminals. The optional transparent dust cover adds protection against airborne dust in harsh machine rooms.
